Justin Bieber’s ‘Purpose Tour’ Gets Even Bigger

December 7, 2016

Justin Bieber’s Purpose Tour somehow just got even bigger.

For weeks, Beliebers have been going crazy about rumors that Bieber is setting off on not only a second North American leg of his tour but his first ever stadium tour. Bieber started the buzz himself, dropping hints to fans he has met recently that he would be hitting the road once again after he tours Australia.

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the 26th time, he sang an acoustic version of his hit collaboration with Major Lazer “Cold Water” and stated that he has already done over 100 shows this tour…but he’s not stopping there. He announced he’s kicking off a summer 2017 North American stadium tour on Aug. 5 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. The six-city tour will also make stops in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Denver, Minneapolis and Toronto.

People have been avidly tweeting about the announcement, the responses a combination of excitement to purchase tickets and disappointment that the tour is so short. Regardless, the Purpose Tour has been extremely influential (the merchandise has expanded way beyond being merely something to buy at his shows, as seen by its appearance in both low and high-end stores) and seems to be never-ending.

It will be interesting to see how Bieber’s show, which includes hanging trampolines from ceilings of arenas across the globe, changes to fit stadiums. See Justin Bieber’s full list of shows here.
