Beyonce’s ‘Flawless’…but We Already Knew That

October 11, 2014

Just in case you forgot that she could do no wrong, Beyoncé decided to release an official video for her “Flawless (Remix)” featuring the talented, Nicki Minaj. Are we upset about the video? I’ll go ahead and say, absolutely not. Do we feel as though the video belongs among the greatest videos of all time? I won’t speak for the entire WeKnowTheDJ team, but I will speak for myself and say: without a doubt.

I’m not going to sugarcoat it people, what you have here is two of the industry’s leading female performers, sharing the same stage at a beautiful Parisian venue on the last night of Mr. and Mrs. Carter’s On The Run Tour. Combine that, with the fact that if you look closely around the 1:40 mark, you’ll catch the lioness looking straight into the camera and winking at me. Oh, you missed it? Yeah…it happens pretty fast, so don’t worry about it; it wasn’t really for you to see anyway. I just thought I’d let you in on the silly things we do sometimes, but I digress.

The video was edited directly from the footage that we were lucky enough to enjoy as part of the Carters’ HBO special that aired last month, and I can assure you, that you will not be underwhelmed with the fact that you may have already seen the video. In fact, it has been scientifically proven that you will have an even better day if you watch the video throughout the day, possibly during your lunch break, and then again right after you’ve closed that extremely important business deal…and then once more before you shut your computer down to head home.

I don’t have to tell you that both Beyoncé and Nicki are coming from a huge Summer/Fall campaign, as you are well aware that they have recently been crushing arenas and radio stations near you with their breakout hits, which include: Beyoncé’s entire album and Nicki Minaj’s radio smash, “Anaconda,” which samples Sir Mix-A-Lot’s classic, “I Like Big Butts”. To be quite honest, the only issue that I have with the song is its title. I just can’t seem to figure out why Ms. Minaj would choose to sample that song. Maybe there’s some deeper meaning behind the song that I just can’t figure out yet, but it sure is entertaining!’ll make a deal with you; I’ll post the video below if you’ll each promise to watch it at least three times a day (we’ll keep it light). Don’t let me down! But more importantly, don’t let them down; they have worked extremely hard to bring you this Oscar worthy performance, and are very deserving of your admiration. All that I can ask for now is a Remix of the Remix featuring…I don’t know…maybe Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. One can only dream…Enjoy:

As always, be sure to tweet us @weknowthedj and let us know how much you enjoyed the video, because we already know that you did…Have an awesome weekend!
