WeKnowTheDJ Wednesday: DJ Khaled Can’t Miss!

June 4, 2014

“WE THE BEST!!! DJ KHALED!!! ANOTHER ONE!!!” Odds are if you’ve heard any of those phrases shouted out loud before the songs that you’re listening to, you’ve got a hold of the right music! DJ Khaled has built an empire by collaborating with some of the biggest names in hip-hop and R&B, to release hit after hit for the radio and the club. No matter what level of success you believe you’ve achieved in the music business, if you get that call from Khaled, you better pick it up!

What you may not be familiar with is Khaled’s affiliation with Birdman’s Cash Money Records. His production company, (that’s right, you guessed it) “We The Best,” signed with Cash Money Records back in 2012, which essentially created a pipeline for Khaled to link up with Lil’ Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Stunna himself! Based on the highly reliable “NormStats” that are in no way imaginary or created by myself, 1 in every 10 Americans has at least 20 songs in their iTunes library that features DJ Khaled, and that’s a fact!

The man truly doesn’t know how to make an awful song. And as if mastering the music industry weren’t enough, Khaled can now add mentoring athletes to his never-ending list of skills. Recently, Khaled was commended for mentoring rookie tight end, Eric Ebron, a breakout star at UNC, and recent first round draft pick by the Detroit Lions in the 2014 NFL Draft. You may wonder what advice DJ Khaled could give to a young athlete beginning his professional career, but the truth is, Khaled has maintained his position atop the charts for years now, so he definitely knows the definition of hard work.

Khaled’s latest single, “They Don’t Love You No More,” featuring Jay Z, Rick Ross, Meek Mill and French Montana is just beginning to get airtime on all major radio stations, and recently began shooting the music video. So it’s safe to say, Khaled has NO intention of slowing down or becoming the subject of his own song, and definitely has the friends to keep his successful streak alive. Putting the spotlight on Khaled this week was a no-brainer, and our hats are off to him as we hope for his continued success.

Listen to “They Don’t Love You No More” below. Also, be on the lookout for DJ Khaled’s upcoming album, I Changed A Lot to drop sometime this summer, and tweet us @weknowthedj to let us know who you’d like us to feature on next time for WeKnowTheDJ Wednesday.
