Lily Allen, Soundcloud Queen?

June 16, 2014

Throw it back to 2006. What were you listening to? Maybe you were belting a little Beyoncé or turning up the radio when Neyo’s “So Sick” was playing on the radio. Well, way back 2006, when already world-famous artists were producing more music, Lily Allen was making a name for herself and putting a Smile on millions of faces.

Sheezus, possibly one of the best album titles out there, was released earlier this May as Lily’s third studio album. This Englander’s super spunky and mischievous sound is bringing together fans from more places than just her home country. Due to her fun and carefree spirit, Lily Allen is sharing some old music that is sure to thrill us all.

Soundcloud is a hub for musicians to share their music in a more accessible way, besides iTunes. Just for fun, Lily’s spontaneous attitude provoked her into posting some old material, tweeting, “putting up some old demos on just for LOLS.” Allen’s five newly added songs include “My Town,” “Age Of Beige,” “Stop Right There,” “I Was Born In The 80s,” and “Don’t Mind Babe.” Every song has its own flare and Lily’s accented vocals are strong, per usual. All five demos provide a perfect combo of upbeat and mellow production which sticks to her normal Lily style. For only demos, these songs are incredible and definitely have radio hit written all over them.
