The wait is nearly over!

Back in January of this year, I was pondering the whereabouts of Phil Collins when suddenly, the man in question re-appeared announcing he was working on new material for Tottenham-born, UK Singer, Adele – a singer he’d never heard of, unbelievably. You’ve got to be kidding us Phil? You must have been living in a cave?! Turns out, whether joking or otherwise, Phil quipped he has indeed been living in a cave and that is his explanation for having A) disappeared and B) not knowing about the multi-platinum selling, record-breaking songstress who turned 26 yesterday.

Phil, however, is absolutely forgiven because the man is a genius when it comes to song-writing and coupled with the magic and singularity of Adele’s voice, we all know we’re expecting the next ’21’. And, as it turns out, we literally are expecting the next ’21’ ¬†except this time, it’s likely to be called ’25’, in keeping with her tradition of naming her albums after her age at the time of writing.

Our lovely lady from England rarely takes to twitter – despite having amassed an impressive 20 million followers – so when she popped up on the social networking site yesterday to not only tweet, but tweet THIS: “Bye bye 25… See you again later in the year x” the twitterverse went into absolute meltdown!

¬†The ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ singer shared this picture yesterday along with a tweet hinting at the latest album’s title

Later this year! Finally, the five year hiatus the singer had awarded herself to concentrate on family was nearing an end! It may be a little selfish of us to have celebrated in that way, everyone needs down-time, but to hell with it when we want her music.

Besides, the 26-year-old has suggested this next album will be coming from a happy place “At least now I have time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy” the singer told US Vogue in 2012, and we all know how far being ‘Happy’ gets us, don’t we Pharrell? Then again, Adele’s dramatic, heart-breaking ’21’ hit the spot rather well too.

We’re more than ready for happy Adele, and with the likes of OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder – who has previously written tracks for the singer – joining Phil Collins to make this album, we’re expecting ’25’ to set fire to the music industry and much like it’s predecessor, we suspect it’ll be a blaze that will be hard to control.
