The numbers are in, the results have been announced, and the Brits have spoken: this week in the UK charts, love songs and synthetic house anthems reign supreme.

Take a look at what made the Top 10 cut:

1. She Looks So Perfect – 5 Seconds of Summer

Taking the top spot is the latest ridiculously catchy offering from Australian quartet 5 Seconds of Summer, “She Looks So Perfect”. The teenage cuties, who have just released an EP alongside the new single, are set to join One Direction this May as the opening act for 1D’s mammoth worldwide stadium tour, ‘Where We Are’.

2. I Got U – Duke Dumont ft. Jax Jones

Dethroned this week by 5SOS’s new track, “I Got U” is the 2nd single to have ever gone #1 for Duke Dumont. The techno-heavy track is simultaneously smooth and energetic – it positively screams for the clubs.

3. Changes – Faul & Wad Ad Vs. Pnau

Taking the #3 spot this week is the infectiously synthetic  tune, “Changes”. New to the Top 10s, it’s an energetic track ideal for the changing of the seasons – and, better yet, getting in the mood for summertime.

4. My Love – Route 94 ft. Jess Glynne

The catchy house jam “My Love” ranks 4th, down two spots from last week. The beat-infused track would feel perfectly at home in the clubs and undoubtedly caters to such an audience if the music video is any indication.

5. All of Me – John Legend

Coming in at #5 is the sweet ballad “All of Me” by John Legend. The legendary artist croons sugary lyrics such as ‘You’re my end and my beginning / even when I lose, I’m winning / Cause I give you all of me / and you give me all of you‘, set entirely to a beautiful piano backing.

6. Pharrell Williams – Happy

This chart-topper’s stable spot at #6 must be keeping Pharrell pretty happy, as the single continues to perform fantastically. It’s no surprise – after all, who wouldn’t feel happy after listening to it?

7. Wizard – Martin Garrix & Jay Hardway

Another house hit, “Wizard” is an enticing mix quintessential for clubs and DJ playlists. The single makes its debut on the Top 10s this week.

8. Rather Be – Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynne

The rhythmic hit “Rather Be” is this week’s 8th biggest hit. Singing ‘If you gave me a chance / I would take it / It’s a shot in the dark / But I’ll make it’, the song is an upbeat, feel-good number that will have you dancing long after the 4.5 minute song is over.

9. Dark Horse – Katy Perry ft. Juicy J

American pop princess Katy Perry continues her reign of the international charts with her latest hit, “Dark Horse”. Add in a clever verse by guest Juicy J and the remix has been taken to a whole new level.

10. Tsunami (Jump) – Dvbbs & Borgeous feat. Tinie Tempah

And taking up the rear is Dvbbs & Borgeous feat. Tinie Tempah’s incredibly upbeat track “Tsunami (Jump)”. Singing, ‘I feel like I’m riding a wave / tsunami / jump‘, the single is another blend of beats simply screaming for the clubs. This is its 3rd week on the charts.

As the seasons change and summertime draws ever nearer, all scrutiny will fall to the charts to decide what will become 2014’s summer anthems. Could one of these chart-toppers make the cut?
