It’s “Not A Bad Thing” to Fall in Love With JT’s New Music Video

April 2, 2014

In an exclusive release on The Ellen Degeneres Show on March 20th, Justin Timberlake’s music video for “Not A Bad Thing” called upon its viewers to help find a couple of lovebirds. Two documentarians are looking for the couple, whose engagement was set to the JT song on a New York City train. They want to make a film about the couple’s real-life romance.

In true JT style, he has changed the game once again. The “Not A Bad Thing” video is documentary meets rom-com, music video slash passion project. And it’s the epitome of heartwarming. Basically, JT still just wants to spread the love.

Feeling squeamish? It’s probably best not to read on.

The song plays as a backdrop to the mini-docu, which follows the filmmakers as they scour NYC for the couple. The video also includes countless interview bites from a diverse selection of couples who discuss what it takes to find love, and stay in it.

Seeing as how the average song length from Justin Timberlake’s The 2020 Experience is around 7 minutes, we already expected each ensuing music video to be a short film. But we certainly didn’t predict this original twist on the typical music video.
