“UNNHH!” Over the weekend, Rick Ross, also known as “Rozay,” “The Boss,” “Teflon Don,” and now self-proclaimed “Mastermind,” released his latest video offering for the song “War Ready,” featuring Young Jeezy, off of his sixth studio release Mastermind. “War Ready” is easily one of the more street-ready anthems on the album, detailing Ross’ seemingly fearless attitude toward any type of conflict that may come his way.

Throughout the entire six-minute video, we see Rozay center-screen delivering his verses in a dark room, dressed in an all black hooded sweatshirt, multiple diamond necklaces, and in one shot, we even see the boss in a large fur coat! When he’s not on screen, a mysterious figure in a chrome-colored mask remains unrevealed while staring directly into the camera, adding to the ominous feeling of the video. Furthermore, as soon as the chorus begins, Ross’ goons scramble inside of an old rundown warehouse, also wearing masks, and begin firing their automatic rifles at someone or something that never manages to enter the frame.

Once the chorus ends, Young Jeezy begins his verse behind a caged fence inside of the warehouse where several of the goons are frantically running circles around him, seemingly paranoid that enemies may indeed be approaching. However despite all of the activity around him, Jeezy just keeps it cool, calm and collected and continues with his verse, which also happens to be one of the strongest featured verses on the album.

Looking closely at Ross’ entourage as the video comes to a close, you’ll see quick cameo appearances by several of Ross’ associates including Meek Mill, DJ Khaled and YG. I truly wouldn’t be surprised if we continue to see multiple video releases for tracks from Mastermind, as the album’s impressive lyrical content paints vivid pictures of what’s in Ross’ mind, and tells several stories that would make for entertaining videos.

As you can tell from the track list above, Rozay recruited a lot of talent to assist him with yet another awesome compilation. At this point, fans of Ross expect several guests, accompanied by hard-hitting beats that visibly shake the car sitting next to you at the stoplight. Mastermind is no exception to this rule, as Ross also managed to recruit super-producers, DJ Khaled, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kanye West, Scott Storch, The Weeknd and Mike Will Made It to ensure more classic tracks to add to the Boss’s repertoire.

If you’re looking to supplement your collection of chart-topping albums that have already been released in 2014 (KiD CuDi’s Satellite Flight, Eminem’s Marshall Mathers LP 2, ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron just to name a few…) I highly recommend heading over to iTunes to pickup your copy of Rick Ross’ latest effort Mastermind.
