Jay Electronica Remixes “We Made It”

March 28, 2014

“We Made It” was originally known as a track produced by Soulja Boy. Earlier this week, however, Jay Z and Jay Electronica gave the track an entirely new meaning.

The original version of Soulja Boy’s “We Made It” has cleverly been remixed with religious references from Electronica and with Jay Z taking a shot at Drake: “Sorry Mr. Drizzy for so much art talk/ Silly me rappin’ ’bout shit that I really bought/ Why these rappers rap about guns they ain’t shot?/ And a bunch of other silly shit that they ain’t got.”

Apparently last month in an interview with Rolling Stone Drake made a comment about Jay Z: “It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references!” he told the magazine. “I would love to collect at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.”

I guess Jay Z’s response just goes to show that he hears everything!

“Apologies go out to all of my fans cause they waited so patiently,” Jay Electronica states in the track.

While there’s still no word on when his highly anticipated album is set to be released, at least we know he’s still making music. This is the second track Jay Electronica has dropped since his return from his hiatus, and we are extremely anxious to hear what else he has planned to release.
