Kanye Hits Nail On The Head, Gets Graphic On “Drunk In Love” Remix

February 24, 2014

That cowgirl, you reverse that cowgirl
. You reverse, you reverse, and I impregnated your mouth, girl, ooooh. That’s when I knew you could be my spouse, girl.

What you just read are just a small serving of the explicit lyrics that Kanye West throws down in this remix of Beyoncé’s “Drunk In Love” featuring his bud Jay Z. As if  “Drunk In Love” wasn’t repeatable enough as is, the Kanye version also requires a few listens. Mostly because a lot of you will be saying “Say whaaaaaaaat?” after your first time through.

R&B queen, Yoncé posted this teaser video on Valentine’s Day to warn fans about what they were in for.

The western getup is obviously a reference to some of Kanye’s—ahem—cowgirl oriented lyrics. Critics will undoubtedly turn their noses up at how Kanye boasts of future wife Kim Kardashian by calling her a “MILF,” and him a “motherf—-er”. However, Kanye is simply fulfilling the duties of writing a verse for “Drunk In Love”: to say some disturbingly honest, raunchy,  and ill-mannered things…things that one might say to their lover while drunk.

Despite taking on the attitude of an intoxicated person in love, Kanye executes the rap verse with more style and ability than any drunk person I’ve ever met. But then again, I’ve also never met Kanye West.

It’s no secret that “Drunk In Love” is a smash hit – it gets ample radio play, and is Beyonce’s seventh No. 1 to top the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart. And Kanye’s not the only one who wanted to jump on the remix train. Artists including T.I., Diplo, and The Weeknd have taken to putting their own spin on the single. If you want explicit lyrics, sick beats, an infectious rhythm, and on-point vocals (including rap), first listen to the original, then listen to each remix that ensues. I assure you, they are all delightful, and explicit as all hell.
