January 15, 2014

Cold weather usually accompanies Monday mornings in the middle of January but when two of the music industry’s hottest female artists premiere a track on KISS FM, everything changes. With a little help from Ryan Seacrest, Shakira and Rihanna have officially premiered their much-anticipated duet, “Can’t Remember to Forget You.” With a Caribbean feel, paying homage to both star’s native roots, we won’t be surprised as the catchy track skyrockets toward the top of the charts.

Produced by Shakira, John Hill and Kid Harpoon, “Can’t Remember to Forget You” is all about romance. The track complements each singer’s vocal abilities almost perfectly as they sing about a woman who’s willing to “follow, follow, follow” her man because “she can’t remember to forget you.” Although we’re all about being your own person and developing independence, we know how love works. From falling head over heels to the struggle of moving of, the two beauties definitely hit the nail on the head with their explanation. We’ve posted the audio for the track below so definitely be sure to check that out and send us a tweet at @weknowthedj to share your thoughts!

The track holds the spot as the lead single from Shakira’s upcoming untitled album, expected in late March. Shakira’s next album isn’t the only thing we have to look forward to! The Colombian singer confirmed on her Twitter account that we can expect a video for “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” directed by Joseph Kahn. We’re already in love with the track and can’t wait to see how the visual supports the audio—stay tuned!
