KISS To Perform at LA’s First Outdoor Hockey Game!

January 8, 2014

KISS is bringing their face-painted theatrics to the Dodger stadium later this month to perform pre-game and intermission for the 2014 Coors Light NHL stadium series as LA’s very first outdoor hockey game!

This match will have LA’s own Kings against the Anaheim Ducks and will be airing live on NBC Sports. Although KISS is headlining, there will be more musical acts added to the lineup in the weeks to come.

“Los Angeles is the premier hub for sports and entertainment in this country, and we are honored to be part of an event that fuses both by rocking the first-ever outdoor NHL game in L.A.,” KISS frontman Gene Simmons said in a statement yesterday.

With their signature makeup, a lineup of incredible hits like “Rock And Roll All Nite” and “Detroit Rock City,” KISS personify the very meaning of Rock Stars and extravagance that NHL Executive VP and Chief Marketing Officer, Brian Jennings, hopes to bring in.

“Our goal with the NHL Stadium Series games is to give our fans an unforgettable experience,” said Jennings. “Having KISS headline our entertainment lineup is the perfect way to make our celebration of hockey in Southern California even bigger and more memorable.”

2014 kicks off with the NHL Stadiums game but the ball won’t stop rolling for these gentlemen just yet. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the release of their first album KISS, to which they followed up with countless hits, worldwide praise and they’ve even appeared on anything from lunch boxes to comic books – it seems like they’ve done it all. As one of the top ranked bands in America, to-date they’ve sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, including their most recent release MONSTER(2012). They performed sold out shows in support of this album across the world from North America, South America, Japan to Australia.

This Los Angeles event will mark many firsts for the sport and the city. This will be the first outdoor regular season NHL game played in the U.S., the southern-most NHL game in history and the very first outdoor NHL game in California. As well, with a 51-year history of hosting sporting events, this will be the first time a hockey game is played at the Dodger stadium.

Without a doubt, this event will be one to mark in our books so if you’re looking to experience it, go on or to purchase your tickets for the game!
