The Z100 Jingle Ball held in Madison Square Garden this weekend was one to top off all events of the year. Point blank: Miley Cyrus stole the show. The roaring screams were unheard of seconds before the edgy pop star hit the stage.

JINGLE-jumbo

The screams were coming from teenagers to girls of the tender age of 6,7- they all had love for Miley and were doused in her gear. Wether it be t-shirts, face tattoos or posters… it was all about her. Well, this was all after the rest of the line-up had rolled in…

Jason Derulo ran through a fun and romantic number and another crowed pleaser was definitely the X-Factor originals, Fifth Harmony. Katie Holmes took to the Z100 stage to introduce the freshly-off-tour Selena Gomez to have her perform an electric set(without the technical difficulties this time). And the far from mainstream boy band, Fall Out Boy, came on stage with their thriving energy to tell us, “Whatever is keeping you strange and weird and different, keep that small spark alive.”

Alongside Austin Mahone was his newest music video for his track “Banga! Banga!” that was playing above him as he danced through the motions. But what we couldn’t get our eyes off was Ariana Grande! Her petite athletic frame hopped on stage and blew us away, as always, were her powerful vocals.

Mr. 305, Mr. International, gave us a stop-and-go performance filled with sharp moves and stern poses, keeping it classy as per usual followed by Robin Thicke in a leopard blazer singing his soft falsetto’s. The party, if not started, continued with Enrique who brought out balloons for the masses and held an effortful performance to dance to. The most skillful performance of the night is awarded to Paramore, who delivered their very best. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis came on stage bigger than the issues they sing about! They turned up the energy and took the crowd away.

So was the best then saved for last? In a sequin red two piece-her signature style-Miley kicked off her mini set with “Party In The U.S.A.,” from 2009 then rolled into the lazy tempo of “We Can’t Stop.” Her flaw-free voice was nothing but perfection while covering an acoustic and slowed-down version of Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness.” Powering through the end of her performance with her two latest singles off “Bangerz,” Miley sang “Adore You” and “Wrecking Ball” which mellowed the crowd before they were headed home from a night of incredible music.

With new artists, new music and a new atmosphere each year, the Z100 Jingle Ball proves to be nothing but FRESH as they come and go! Were you able to attend this time around? Tweet us at @weknowthedj and let us know what you thought of the performance!
