Call Her Maybe? No, Call Her Cinderella

December 30, 2013

In 2012, Carly Rae Jepsen rose to the top of the charts practically overnight with some help from none other than Justin Bieber. The world knows the story of how Carly’s hit song Call Me Maybe was declared “the catchiest song of all time,” and everyone has found himself or herself singing along to the track at least a dozen times! As her talents expanded, Carly released an album titled Kiss, travelled the world on Bieber’s Believe Tour and became the face of numerous brands. While she’s been quiet for quite some time recently, she’s back with HUGE news!

New York City, get ready! Making a transition from arena stages to the theater stage, Carly Rae Jepsen is Broadway’s newest star! On February 4th, the Canadian native will trade in her hockey and maple syrup for a glass slipper as she takes on the role of Cinderella. Jepsen will replace Laura Osnes as she calls Broadway Theatre home for twelve weeks, joining Fran Drescher on stage. We’re excited to see the beginning of this new journey for Carly Rae Jepsen and can’t wait to support her in New York City!

Broadway has been a dream for Carly Rae long before her music was recognized worldwide and if anyone knows about following your dreams, it’s Cinderella. While asked about her newest project, Carly said, “It’s so hopeful and inspiring. I’ve always been one to believe in the impossible, so I related to her character completely.” While Carly Rae feels she can relate to Cinderella, her millions of fans feel they can relate to the 28-year-old Canadian.
