Miley Cyrus

This morning at 10:15 EST Miley Cyrus announced via twitter her North American tour for her newest album BANGERZ. Within seconds, twitter was in an uproar because Miley hasn’t been on tour since 2009. Four looooong years later, Cyrus is back and ready to show the world her new and improved self.

Over the past four years, Miley has been focusing 100% on her music. With outstanding success from BANGERZ, Miley’s dedicated Smilers are ready to purchase tickets to one of the 38 shows listed on the tour so far.

When Miley drastically cut her long, luscious brown locks into a bleach blonde pixie style hair cut, the world went crazy. With an album just as crazy as her hair, this tour should be one for the books! Opening acts have yet to be announced but there is no doubt in my mind that she will have some interesting artists accompanying her.

A few excited fans tweeted about the tour saying:

It is definitely obvious that everyone is super hyped, but the fact that the tour kicks off as early as February 14th, 2014 is hella exciting.

The last we’ve heard from Miley before BANGERZ came out was her “Backyard Sessions” that she posted on her YouTube channel. These sessions consisted of Miley, a back up band and her raw voice singing covers of some of the best songs ever written. One of the most popular songs she covered is called “Jolene” by Dolly Parton which racked in over 16 million views. Watch below:

Another fan favourite was Miley’s cover of “Lilac Wine” by Jeff Buckley which was also featured in her backyard sessions. It was clear that that she was into slower music back in 2012 because it reflects in the songs she chose to cover. Check out Miley’s rendition of “Lilac Wine” below:

Since the release of BANGERZ, Miley was featured in a song, as well as its music video. The song entitled, “23” by Mike WiLL Made-It is a tribute to the one and only, Michael Jordan. Not only is Miley featured on the track, but Pittsburgh native Wiz Khalifa and rapper Juicy J were as well. The track is very up beat and a tiny bit inappropriate at times, but it is very catchy. In the music video, Miley sports a matching red shirt and shorts with “23” on it. Check out the music video below if you haven’t already:
