LISTEN NOW: Heartbreaker By Justin Bieber

October 7, 2013

You’ve been patient, attentive and tremendously anxious. With all the teasing and taunting of new music, it’s been an exhausting few months as a fan of Justin Bieber. Worry no longer, Beliebers! A gift is being bestowed upon you through a manner we can only dub as marketing genius.

A round of applause to Justin Bieber and the master minds standing alongside the young pop star. What you’re about to experience is the beginning of an entirely new era. Starting today and continuing over the next 9 weeks, will be the most mastered, perfected and personal execution of artistry.

Breaking out of the norm within the music industry, we have the release of 10 new songs individually for the weeks to follow. Each track having its own value and worth, there’s simply no other form of appropriate distribution. This strategy exudes nothing less than faith and confidence; faith in the art created and confidence in its reception.

After being placed in the most sweltering position by worldwide media this year, Justin Bieber is coming out proud and collected, ready to claim what is his (as if it isn’t already). We’d imagine the doubt of his craft and talents would have diminished by now, but it seems Hollywood and the general public hold their standards at galactic levels. Accordingly, that is exactly where they are going to be met.

No, we will not be listing off all his accomplishments, awards, record-breaking titles and charitable achievements. Not this time (we could write a decent novel). At this point, we are going to sit back and allow a process of 10 weeks speak for itself. At the risk of being cliche; let the music speak for itself.

Without further adieu, we introduce to you, Heartbreaker.

Smooth, sensual, things we’ve never seen from Bieber… musically. We thought he was all done growing up with Believe but we stand corrected!

“Girl you don’t know how I feel/since you’ve been away” is the opening line to the song, and we assume Justin’s addressing the “heartbreaker” herself. The beat strings along in the back with a 90’s feel, leading into the chorus “oh girl I got a secret place that we can go/’cause I really wanna be alone/and baby nobody else gotta know/just meet me later on the low…”

An oh-so-sexy sounding Bieber effortlessly offers us one more hook and verse before he cuts into a quiet talking voice, “So what I’m really trying to say is/and what I hope you understand/is despite of all the imperfections of who I am I still wanna be your man/I know it hasn’t been easy for us to talk with everyone being around but/this is personal/this is from me to you/and I want you to know that I still love you/now the seasons may change/and sometimes love goes from sunshine to rain/but I’m under this umbrella and I’m calling your name/and you know I don’t wanna lose that/I still believe in us”

We can only guess who this “heartbreaker” is but we can’t imagine a single girl who wouldn’t take a heartbroken Bieber back after having a listen. Regardless, the track continues with a slower beat so Biebs can reassure us he still believes in love. Thank goodness! But from the sound of it, it’s true heartbreak he’s going through. He’s losing sleep over this lucky lady, and he’d give up just about anything for her… have we mentioned we’re jealous? Okay.

Have a listen for yourself… ( …)

If this is any indication of what is to come in the rest of Bieber’s #MusicJournals releases, we’re taking a turn into a sound never heard before! It’s new, catchy, and full of raw feeling; some of Justin’s best work yet. We have a feeling it’s only getting better from here…

Tweet @weknowthedj what you think about Heartbreaker! We love it!
