Katy Perry Hits The Saturday Night Live Stage

With her much-anticipated album, Prism, hitting iTunes and store shelves on October 22nd, Katy Perry stopped by the Saturday Night Live studio this past weekend as the show’s musical guest. While Bruce Willis was the host, Perry performed two of her upcoming tracks; lead single “Roar” and “Walking on Air.” Katy Perry definitely had a big act to follow; Miley Cyrus hosted the comedic sketches and was the musical guest on the show the weekend before.

She’s kissed a girl, woke up in Vegas, and has become a teenage dream, but this weekend, she brought the jungle to New York City. Perry held her own as she transformed the SNL stage into a jungle while performing “Roar,” accompanied by her band dressed in wild animal costumes. “Roar” is Perry’s eighth No. 1 single on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart so it’s no surprise for her to choose this performance first.

Katy channeled past decades as she performed “Walking on Air.”  Flowing white curtains surrounded the set for a nightclub, only appropriate for the techno-vibe of the track. Fabric screens throughout the stage gave the illusion of flight as Perry sang “Walking on Air.”

As of this time, Katy has only released “Roar,” “Dark Horse,” and “Walking on Air,” but you’ll be able to listen to the entire album when it becomes available on the 22nd of October. Katy will be spending album-release day performing at the new iHeartRadio Theater in Burbank.
