English pop rock band The Feeling  will be releasing their fourth studio album Boy Cried Wolf  on the 7th October and the lead single Rescue received it’s worldwide exclusive first play this morning on BBC Radio 2  with Ken Bruce (click here and fast forward to 2:01:24 to hear the track:  ) – please note, the Listen Again service on Radio 2 is only available for seven days after the programme is aired so in case you’ve missed it, here is a recent live performance of this track .

It doesn’t disappoint. Rescue  has the classic build up of a Feeling track, with it’s piano introduction followed by smooth thumping beat building up to the crescendo of the full band lead by Dan Gillespie-Sells’  unmistakable vocals.

will you come to the rescue once again?”  he pleads.

A snippet of the studio version of Rescue  can be heard (along with other new tracks) on a hilarious album teaser posted back in July:

The platinum-selling band made up of Dan Gillespie-Sells  (vocals, guitars), Richard Jones  (bass), Kevin Jeremiah (guitars), Ciaran Jeremiah  (keyboards) and Paul Stewart  (drums), released their first single Fill My Little World   in 2005 where it entered the UK singles chart at #7.  This was, however, under a limited release, their first full release Sewn  was released a few months later in 2006 and went on to become one of the UK’s biggest hits that year. Shortly after, their debut album Twelve Stops and Home,  released on 5th June 2006, reached #2 on the album chart. Their second album Join With Us,  released on 18th February 2008, reached #1. Their third album Together We Were Made,  released on 20th June 2011, reached only #22 which is surprising since the album was incredibly well crafted.  In addition to the brilliant sound they not only produce but also perform with ease, the songwriting is also always outstanding.  Something recognised by the Ivor Novello Awards in 2007 when they were awarded Songwriters of the Year.

The band were due to begin touring the UK back in April but had to re-schedule to later this year to synchronise with the release of the latest album. By way of apology to the fans, the band performed at a small gig at The Doghouse (Dan’s House) where they played songs from Boy Cried Wolf  (including Rescue). A  recording of the live webcast of this can be viewed below:

One of the hardest-working and loveliest bands in the UK, I have a feeling they have indeed come to the rescue once again.
