It ain’t no lie… *NSYNC REUNITES!

2013 MTV Video Music Awards - Show

It has been a year full of reunions for 90’s music. We kicked off the reminiscing at the Super Bowl with Destiny’s Child, followed by New Kids On The Block setting off on tour with 98 Degrees and even Backstreet Boys reuniting for a summer tour. However it seems the best was saved for last with the reunion of *NSYNC at the MTV VMA’s on Sunday! (Pause for applause and screams)

The fire was sparked with a tweet that was sent out saying, “Mic check, mic check one.. two… is this thing on?!” from the official *NSYNC twitter! In a matter of two hours of activation, the twitter account gained over 50K followers (now sitting at 200k+) and the blue verification stamp of twitter. Can someone say IMPACT?

In the midst of the massive JT performance, the lights turned off and up from the ground rose the smokey silhouettes of Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, JC Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick joined by Timberlake in the middle. They sprang into a performance of “Girlfriend” and “Bye Bye Bye” as the crowd erupted in applause. The camera’s even caught the likes of Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift gushing over the group! After performing the two hits, the group disappeared back into the stage leaving their band-mate JT to finish his set for the VMA audience.

The group has been broken up for nearly 10 years now but the last time *NSYNC graced us at the VMAs were way back in 2001 where the King of Pop himself joined them on stage for a performance of “Pop”.

So with that performance and the up-and-running twitter account, do you think they’re back for good? We’re crossing our fingers!

Since the group split, most of them have kept busy with their own careers. Fatone has been actively appearing in several movies and TV shows, Lance Bass has been hosting a radio show called “Dirty Pop”, JC has been working with Girl Radical, a new 12-member group and Chris Kirkpatrick has appeared on CMT’s reality show “Gone Country.”

Was the reunion everything you dreamed of and more? Let us know by tweeting @weknowthedj! We would love to know what you think.
