999497_553641501357315_1220441378_nAccording to British singer-songwriter Ed Drewett, One Direction’s highly anticipated new single “Best Song Ever” is, quite simply, “catchy as f**k”. Given that Drewett co-wrote the track with Wayne Hector, we can see why he’d be hyping it up, but as he also wrote the hits “All Time Low” for the Wanted and “Dear Darlin’” for Olly Murs, he’s gotta know what he’s talking about.

Speaking to Entertainmentwise about the boy band’s new song, Drewett shares, “The chorus is pretty much about a night that they and their girl shared together, they got tipsy and forgot what the best song ever was, but they remembered the words that night, but forgot it by the morning.”

Indeed, 1DHQ has been abuzz lately with hype on the new single, even releasing a glorious 21-second tease that features the very chorus that Drewett describes. Singing, “And we danced all night / to the best song ever / We knew every line / Now I can’t remember / How it goes, but I know / That I won’t forget her / Cause we danced all night / to the best song ever”, the boys are indeed living up to the hype with what is bound to be an undeniably catchy tune.

And Directioners, you better get your creative on! As the countdown to “Best Day Ever” slowly slips by, the band is asking fans to record Instagram vids in which they finish the lyrics! Simply add the hashtag #GuessBestSongEver to your video and you may find your moment of lyrical genius being hailed by the boys themselves.

Stay tuned to WeKnowTheDJ for all the latest 1D updates, and be sure to pick up a copy of “Best Song Ever” when it drops July 22nd! In the meantime, check out the latest tease for the track below:
