"Acapella" by Karmin

Amy Heidmann and Nick Louis Noonan, also known as the dynamic duo named Karmin, released a new single yesterday entitled “Acapella”. Well known for their popular song, “Brokenhearted”, the two of them have been very successful over the past few years. “Brokenhearted” made its way up the charts and reached Top 20 in the United States soon after it was released. The single then made its way to the Top 10 in New Zealand, Australia and the United States!

The duo met when they were both attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. In May of 2010 Karmin released their first EP entitled Inside Out. Later that year the duo were not only a couple, but they got engaged! Their popularity grew and grew over the years due to their exposure on The Ellen Degeneres Show , YouTube and their various covers that ended up being seen by the Ryan Seacrest.

Now, the duo is very much recognized and has a number of songs that get you belting out the lyrics. Their new song, “Acapella” is very upbeat and is about a relationship that ended badly. Amy sings the chorus, “Now you’re talking crazy saying that you made me, Like I was your Cinderella, You and me are through, though, watch me hit it solo, I’mma do it acapella”. This is meant to portray her ex being bitter about the relationship ending and now he is talking badly about her. Since he is talking badly about her and their previous relationship, she is going to sing it, but not JUST sing it; she is going to do it acapella which is a much stronger version of singing. The song is very powerful and has catchy lyrics which is what we love to hear.

If you haven’t heard the song yet, I highly recommend you take a listen below and let us know what you think by tweeting us at @weknowthedj on twitter!
