Chime For Change Benefit Concert

June 6, 2013

Being charitable has taken a whole new meaning over the last few years. Generosity seems to be raging through the generations, and this past week, Beyonce Knowles-Carter proved just that.

In the home of rugby union, Twickenham Stadium in London, Beyonce headlined a concert for the Gucci-founded charity Chime For Change (Beyonce is a co-founder.) Chime For Change is a charity advocating women’s rights and working to “raise funds and awareness for girls’ and women’s empowerment” (as stated on

Beyonce was not alone in accomplishing this feat. Some of the biggest names in music appeared, including Ellie Goulding, John Legend, Rita Ora, Jennifer Lopez, and Mary J. Blige. Beyonce did not hold back in performing her all at the concert, but then again, does she ever? She performed a few of her all-time hits, Halo, Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), Run The World (Girls), Survivor, a Destiny’s Child classic, Grown Woman, and Jay-Z even joined her on stage for their hit duet, Crazy In Love.

The range of celebrities did not stop at just artists; James Franco, Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Gloria Steinem, Jada Pinkett Smith, and more were there as presenters, and Prince Harry of Britain even appeared in a segment that was videotaped.

Beyonce is not very active on Twitter, having not tweeted since August 19th, 2013; however, she still came to social media to announce the benefit concert, tweeting, “Tune in now to NBC #ChimeforChange benefit concert. I am honored to be part of this great initiative for the empowerment of all women!”

Kudos to you Beyonce for being very passionate to this charity and devoting your time and effort!
