Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 vary from Daft Punk to Selena Gomez

June 12, 2013

What do Selena Gomez and Florida Georgia Line have in common? The both have songs hanging out in the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 list! The Top 10 are as follows:
1. No surprise to anyone, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are still in the top spot for “Can’t Hold Us,” featuring Ray Dalton, the song is from The Heist. While the single is definitely over-played, the album deserves recognition. It is amazing! If you have not bought The Heist yet, go do it!
2. The second song on the countdown is JT with “Mirrors.” Personally, I believe this is one of Justin Timberlake’s best songs. The music video is super cool, so if you are not one of the 60 million who have seen it, I will post it below. “Mirrors” has a great chorus and lyrics.
3. My favorite on the countdown! In the third spot is Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.” The French duo recently released Random Access Memories and took listeners back to hear what techno music really is. I think this single is the best from the album, and if you like it you should also check out “Instant Crush” by them, featuring the lead singer from The Strokes.
4. Next is “Just Give best online casino Me A Reason” by P!nk and featuring Fun.’s front man, the awesome Nate Ruess. I do like the song, but it’s nothing different. I do love the chorus, “We’re not broken, just bent and we can learn to love again.” Good stuff.
5. Half-way down the chart is COUNTRY MUSIC!? Sorry, what? This is so exciting for a Florida girl who loves some country music. Florida Georgia Line is holding it down with “Cruise” featuring Nelly. It is pretty dope and it’s a catchy-feel good song. Represent!
6. This is my second favorite on the countdown, Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.” I think this song is a little less popular, but will definitely rise to the top soon. The single features T.I. and Pharrell. Thicke’s voice is so so so attractive. I love it and the song. So much talent on one track.
7. Selena Gomez’s “Come and Get It” is number seven. While I’m not sure why the whole first minute of the music video is basically seductive glances and a random flying eagle, I do like the song. The Indian vibe to the song is for sure something different, and a nice change from Gomez. The video puts out some sex appeal that most of us aren’t use to seeing. What do you think of it?
8. I do believe this song, “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons gained popularity from being in the trailer for The Host. All of the songs from Night Vision are very good. The album is worth checking out if you haven’t yet!
9. Another song made popular from tv, “I Love It,” by Icona Pop. Personally, I think this song is super annoying and doesn’t show much talent. Kind of like Snooki and J Wow, but hey! If you like it, you like it.
10. In last place in the top 10 is “Stay” by Rihanna featuring Mikky Ekko. Such a good song, if you’re in the mood for slow music. I love the lyrics and melody.
Check out my faves from the countdown below!
