With a voice that matches that of Luke Bryan, Alex Hall has burst onto the music scene as a singer/songwriter with a “country rock” sound. Though still in high school, Alex has already created a name for himself in country music. Hailing from Gainesville, GA, he began writing songs and playing guitar at a young age. Once in high school, Alex found himself booking gigs at local bars & restaurants around the Gainesville area. Pretty soon he was performing all over the south, opening up for the likes of Gary Allen, Gavin Degraw, and American Idol contestant Bucky Covington. He was even invited to be a guest at the CMT Awards.

Alex describes his music as a mix of “blues, rock, r&b, and a whole lot of country”. In a recent interview with the Greenville Times, Alex revealed that he is currently working on his first studio album. The album will include well-known producers, such as Jan “Mama Jan” Smith who is credited with perfecting the vocals of country music stars, The Band Perry and pop superstars, Usher and Justin Bieber.

Just a few days ago, Alex released a music video which may be a glimpse of what to expect from his upcoming album.  Titled “You’ll Need An Angel”, the song is full of rock guitar, twanging violins, and passionate, spiritual lyrics. From the point of view of an American Soldier, “You’ll  Need an Angel” recalls the horrors and bravery our men and women face while fighting overseas. Starting the video with the words “This Song is a tribute to our troops” it is clear that Alex has a lot of respect for the soldiers risking their lives for the greatness of our nation. His lyrics describe how even in the lowest of times, everyone needs someone to listen and help them through.

While Alex is getting ready to graduate from high school and on the road performing, he also takes time to give back to the community by mentoring younger musicians in songwriting through an after-school program called First Verse. After graduation he plans to focus solely on his music, with small tours planned throughout the year. On Sunday, Alex will open up for The Charlie Daniels Band at Stone Mountain Park. We look forward to seeing what this talented young man has in store for us in years to come.
