If you’ve been wondering where Paris Hilton has been hiding for the last few years, it’s been in the offices of Cash Money records in the process of becoming one of their official artists!

She got her official welcome to the team via twitter from Birdman himself earlier this week:

@birdman5star: Welcome@ParisHilton to tha Family.RichgangRichgirl.YMCMB

@ParisHilton: @birdman5star Thanks BO$$! Happy to be apart of the family. #PH❤YMCMB

Stretch your memory far back enough and you’ll remember the last musical offering we received from the 32-year-old socialite was in 2006. She released a self-titled album “Paris” that reached the top 10 on the Billboard charts and shocked us all with musical talent we never knew she had.

A few singles from the album you may have heard on the radio back then were “Nothing in This World” or “Stars Are Blind.” Both of which were up-tempo pop songs. However, the starlet has decided to ditch her old sound this time around and change things up completely.

“This is a lot different than my first album, it’s really going to be house music.” explained Paris while announcing her partnership with Cash Money when talking to Showbiz 411. But have no fear, to help her step into the unknown territory of EDM is her long-time friend and Dutch house producer, Afrojack.

She also revealed that the album will not only include house music but features from fellow YMCMB hip-hop artists Drake and Nicki Minaj. So it’s likely that she’s actually signing with Young Money Entertainment, a subsidiary of Cash Money that manages the likes of Drake and Nicki.

Young Money and Cash Money are known to deal with artists such as Tyga, Jay Sean, Birdman, Busta Rhymes and more so with those in the genre of rap so it’s no shocker that the announcing of Hilton’s signing came as a surprise to most. This is no reason to rule her out though! Cash Money records is a trusted hit-maker and they constantly deliver successful records so the heiress is definitely in capable hands.

If you’re a fan closely following Hilton’s career, you’ll know that she’s been teasing us about a sophomore album for over a year now! Last year she promised that an album would be out mid-2012 but she’s assured the fans that by the end of summer 2013 we’ll finally be able to listen to her new music, which she has previously described as “electropop music.”

Have a listen to Hilton’s old sound below and prepare your eardrums for the new YMCMB/house sound that will be hitting the airwaves this summer!
