Jake Miller: On The Path To Fame

May 20, 2013

Hailing from Weston, Florida, Jake Miller is a rising musician, singing and rapping his way to fame.

The 20-year-old singer was lucky to experience his first live performance opening up for Snoop Dogg in Pompano Beach, Florida in March 2011. Not too long after, the singer-rapper opened up for Mac Miller in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Within the next year, Miller was traveling all throughout South Florida performing at different events, such as the “Think Pink Rocks” concert in West Palm Beach, Y-100 Jingle Ball in December 2011, and the Orange Drive Miami Beach Music Festival. Notable artists also performed at these events including Ne-Yo, Flo Rida, and Cody Simpson.

Earlier this year, Miller was signed to E-One’s record label. He is slowly, but steadily, climbing the path to superstardom. Just last month, his new EP, “The Road Less Traveled” was released on April 9th. The EP featured six songs, including tracks “Let You Go” and “A Million Lives.”  Both songs exemplify extraordinary talent, but they couldn’t be any more different.

“A Million Lives” shows the softer side of Miller, singing about three fans that have been through cancer, bullying, and a sibling’s death, and have turned to Miller for his music. “Let You Go” is mainly piano-based, and Miller describes it having a “great summer vibe.”

Currently, the young songwriter is on a spring tour ending on which started on April 11th in Bryan, Texas, and ends on June 14th in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

This generation is showcasing heaps of talent, and Jake Miller is amongst them. Listen below to “A Million Lives” and judge for yourself. Does Miller have what it takes to make it?
