Britney Spears releases new single for Smurfs 2

May 23, 2013

Britney’s back. With the release in theatres of Smurfs 2 drawing ever nearer, snippets of the soundtrack have been released so as to give audiences a taste of what to expect on the summer family flick. One such track is “Ooh La La”, 31-year-old global phenomenon and previous X Factor judge Britney Spears’ first single in two years. “I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurf fans ever,” Says Britney of the single. “I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they’ll think it’s smurftastic!”

Just this week, the starlet debuted the track. It’s an undeniably catchy tune taking us back to the beginning days of Britney’s career, when a teenaged version of the star sang sugary-sweet bubblegum pop hits like “Baby One More Time” and “(You Drive Me) Crazy”, both of which come to mind when giving “Ooh La La” a listen. Britney’s latest is produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut and Ammo, and is a surefire smash for audiences of all ages.

Moviegoers across the nation will get the chance to rock out to “Ooh La La” on July 31st, when Smurfs 2 finally hits theatres (wait for the ending credits, which is when Brit’s song is slated to play). In the meantime, fans of the “Circus” songstress can look forward to even more musical melodies in the future, as Brit is set to return to the studios this summer in preparation for her eighth album.
