The Billboard Top 100 Chart has been constantly changing in recent weeks. It seems as if there is a never-ending phase of new singles coming out from various artists, meaning that the Number One artist shouldn’t get too comfy sitting on top. The Countdown for the week of April 6, 2013 is as follows:
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ super smash hit “Thrift Shop” has once again returned to the top of the weekly throne. After sitting in the Number 2 spot last week, Macklemore and Lewis decided that a few more tags needed to be popped and apparently, so did the fans. Thrift Shop has been on the Top 100 list a staggering 25 weeks. It’s peaked at Number 1 numerous times in recent weeks, so it is no surprise that the hit song has once again reclaimed its rightful spot.

Baauer’s Internet sensation “Harlem Shake” lost its Number 1 spot on the charts this week, dropping just one spot down to Number 2. Baauer’s hit single has been in the Top 100 list and impressive 6 consecutive weeks, peaking in the Number 1 spot just last week. Although the hit song has no lyrics, it’s the beat that makes it sweep the charts week after week. Will Baauer return to the thrown next week? We’ll see.

Justin Timberlake & Jay Z’s fancy-dressed “Suit & Tie” is slowly but surely rising on the charts. After being in the Number 4 spot last week, it reached it’s peak position into the Number 3 spot. JT’s first single in years is not disappointed as its incline up the charts is nothing to turn a blind eye towards. Seeing as we haven’t heard from Jay Z in a long while, it is nice to see that he has returned to the charts as well. “Suit & Tie” has been a part of the Top 100 countdown for 11 consecutive weeks; so don’t be surprised when it sits atop the nation’s Top 100 songs.

Bruno Mars has been on a roll in recent months. “When I Was Your Man” is the singer’s latest achievement, sitting in the Number 4 spot this week. Although the hit single was in the Number 3 spot last week, its one-spot drop is nothing to be upset about. Bruno SLAYED the charts with “Locked Out Of Heaven” and “When I Was Your Man” is definitely not a disappointment either. “When I Was Your Man” has been on the countdown for 14 consecutive weeks, and it won’t be long before it’s sitting in the Number 1 spot.

Rihanna has been slaying the charts in recent months as well. Coming off the success of “Diamonds”, Ri-Ri has returned to the charts with “Stay” featuring Micky Ekko. “Stay” is remaining neutral in the Number 5 spot this week, neither dropping nor rising in this week’s charts. “Stay” has been on the countdown for 7 consecutive weeks, peaking at the Number 3 spot, and will most likely reach that spot again, if not surpassing it to sit in the Number 1 spot.

Pink’s return to the Top 100 countdown has been welcomed by fans across the nation and around the world. It’s been a short while since Pink’s been in the charts, her last hit being “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)”, and so it is nice to see that she has returned with “Just Give Me A Reason” featuring Nate Ruess. After being in the Number 9 spot last week, the hit single has reached its peak position of Number 6 in this week’s charts. “Just Give Me A Reason” has been on the countdown for 6 consecutive weeks and is on a slow but steady rise.

Drake’s “Started From The Bottom” has been taking a liking from the fans. After being in the charts for 7 consecutive weeks, the Canadian-bred singer is sitting in the Number 7 spot this week. Despite dropping from the Number 6 spot last week, Drake’s most recent hit is comfortably remaining in the Top 10, so no worries.

Pitbull’s smash hit “Feel This Moment” featuring Christina Aguilera has jumped three spots into the Number 8 spot on this week’s countdown! After sitting in the Number 11 spot last week, the song has gotten the push that it has needed, reaching its peak position after nine consecutive weeks in the charts.

Lil Wayne has released numerous singles in recent weeks, each working their way up the Top 100 Countdown. But it is “Love Me” that has risen to the occasion this time, jumping one spot into the Number 9 spot. After being in the Number 10 spot just last week, “Love Me” has reached its peak position after 10 weeks in the countdown.

Taylor Swift has been slaying the charts as well! “I Knew You Were Trouble” has been in the countdown for a staggering 23 consecutive weeks, but has surprisingly NOT been in the Number 1 spot! The hit single peaked at the Number 2 spot, and has been on a decline in recent weeks, dropping three spots to rest in the Number 10 spot this week. Even though it looks like “I Knew You Were Trouble” is on its way out, Swift has released “22” which should be watched in the coming weeks.
