Nick Lachey: New Dad, New Album!

March 2, 2013

To the parents out there who are experiencing the late-night crying from your newborn baby, you might just want to give Nick Lachey a hug. The 98 Degrees member is releasing an album composed of 12 lullabies to help your kids get to rest.

“A Father’s Lullaby” will be released on March 13th on iTunes and Amazon. Physical copies in stores will be available in April.

Lachey’s new album was inspired by the birth of his first-born child, Camden John Lachey (Isn’t that just the cutest?), born this past September. Overjoyed and overcome with emotion, the new dad decided to use his son as the stepping-stones leading to the creation of “A Father’s Lullaby”. The album will consist of classics, such as “Brahms Lulllaby” and “You Are My Sunshine”. Lachey has also added a few songs, that he co-wrote, onto the album.

From Billboard: “When I first learned that I was going to be a father, I was inspired to create a special tribute to my son,” said Lachey. “Music has always been an incredibly significant part of my life and a meaningful way in which I express myself. Creating this album allowed me to further connect with Camden while also sharing the experience with families who are on a similar journey of welcoming a new life into their world.”

Lachey and his band will be joining New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Men on their tour kicking off on May 31st!
