Since the release of “Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City”, Kendrick Lamar has been on the road touring. On November 10, 2012 the album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and has sold 793k copies to date. It was in Austin, Texas this month that Lamar played nine shows within four days. On March 13, DJ Young Guru spun a clip of Kendrick Lamar and Jay Z’s “B***h Don’t Kill My Vibe” remix. It was not long after that the studio version of the song was leaked on the internet.  This new version includes an extra verse from Lamar as well as a feature from Jay Z. According to Dave Free, Lamar’s manager, the song was not supposed to come out during the festival.

While the music world was not expecting the remix to “B***h Don’t Kill My Vibe” to have a feature from Jay Z, it turns out neither was Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick was surprised with the verse while working in the studio on his upcoming album.
