Fashion, Movies, TV and Music- Selena Gomez’s 2013 Plans

February 2, 2013

If you’re searching for Selena Gomez this year, you don’t have to search very hard because she’s literally going to be everywhere! Department stores are going to be filled with clothing lines, perfume and nail polishes all of which are affiliated with Selena. Her movie Hotel Transylvania was just released on Blu-ray and DVD, she’s headed back to Disney Channel for a Wizards of Waverly Place reunion, her “out of her comfort zone” movie, Spring Breakers, hits theaters soon, and she’s getting back into the music scene sooner than you think. While the rest of the media is focused on drama involving her personal life, we’re focusing on the success that is to come from the almost twenty-one year old.

Almost every girl loves fashion and most dream of having their own fashion line. If you’re Selena Gomez, you’re lucky enough to be connected to two separate fashion lines. The twenty year old has her Dream Out Loud collection, which is sold at Kmart and is known for being extremely fashionable and having reasonable prices. She also has her own perfume, sold at Macy’s, that can be described as flirty and fruity. The brunette beauty also has recently teamed up with Nicole by OPI to create a line of nail polishes that portray her fun, girly style. The 14 shades in the line range from pinks and purples to yellows and a lot of sparkles! There’s a Selena by OPI color for just about every occasion. Check out the behind-the-scenes video of her OPI photo-shoot below.

Dream Out Line, Selena by Selena Gomez, and Selena by OPI aren’t the only companies that the Texas native is currently involved with. She just signed a three- year partnership with Adidas NEO. Selena is headed to New York for the Adidas NEO fashion show as a part of New York Fashion Week. She recently held a contest called Rule the Adidas NEO Runway with Selena Gomez where 30 of her favorite looks will be on the runway at the February 6th show. Keep an eye out for more contests and Selena’s newest NEO ads. Below is one advertisement for the sports company!

On January 19, 2013, Selena Gomez performed at an acoustic UNICEF benefit concert that raised more than $150,000 to support the programs offered by UNICEF. Selena’s three acoustic charity concerts have raised nearly $400,000 for the charity. This year Bridgit Mendler, Noah Guthrie, and Nat and Alex Wolff joined her on stage. The full Weknowthedj recap of Selena’s UNICEF benefit concert can be found at

Was the UNICEF benefit concert just a preview of what’s to come from Selena in the next few months? She has been constantly posting photos on Twitter and Facebook of her fooling around in the studio, accompanied by captions such as, “Today in the studio… I’m Penny Lane from Almost Famous J,” “I can make the Stars Dance,” and “It’s a sad, sad serenade.” The almost twenty-one year old has been working with Rock Mafia making what are guaranteed to be hits! Rock Mafia also produced her previous hit songs, “Love You Like a Love Song,” “My Dilemma,” and “Outlaw.” Her last album, When the Sun Goes Down, peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 chart. New music means more touring and hopefully a world tour for every Selenator all over the world!

Rumor has it that we could be hearing new Selena Gomez music as early as March, which is the same month that she’s returning to Disney Channel and the big screen. For the older Selena Gomez fans, those old enough to see an R rated movie, her controversial film Spring Breakers hits theaters on March 28th. Check out the Weknowthedj feature on the raw movie at On March 15th, Selena is returning to the channel and TV show that made her a household name. Although Wizards of Waverly Place ended last year, the brunette and her cast missed each other so much that they filmed an hour-long TV movie called The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex. In the TV movie, Selena Gomez plays two characters, a Good Alex and an Evil Alex. Good Alex has to attempt to save her family and humankind in a fight that you definitely don’t want to miss!

2013 is definitely going to be the year of the young adult superstars. Selena Gomez is proving to the world that she plans on taking over whatever industries she can.
