Bieber Breaks Billboard Record with Believe Acoustic

February 7, 2013

Three years ago when Justin Bieber first appeared in the music world, critics surrounded him; people assumed he would just be a one-hit wonder or another teen heartthrob that would later resume a life of normalcy. Although he still faces critics daily, the eighteen year old has proven that it’s all about the music. Team Bieber wants to be the underdog as often as possible, but “as often as possible” is becoming harder to find because it seems like Justin can’t stop breaking records!

The January 29th release of Believe Acoustic broke another Billboard record for the Beauty and a Beat singer. Justin has become the only artist in history to have five Number One albums before turning 19! In 2010, My World 2.0 topped the charts, followed by Never Say Never: The Remixes and Under the Mistletoe in 2011. Last year Believe hit the number one spot, and Justin is starting 2013 off the right way, with Believe Acoustic hitting the top spot!

On February 6th, a little after 9am, Justin took to Twitter to have some fun replying to fans, mostly about his appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. But he started off the tweet-spree by tweeting these tweets, reminding all of us that we’re on this journey together and this is OUR music! Justin also promised that our journey isn’t over yet!

Steve Bartels, President and COO of Island Def Jam Music Group, even had something to say about the success of Believe Acoustic. Bartels is quoted saying, “With this week’s incredible success of BELIEVE ACOUSTIC, Justin continues to impress everyone with the magnitude of his artistry, His vision for BELIEVE ACOUSTIC was an organic extension of his growth as a musician on tour and in the studio, consummately devoted to his fans. The album reflects an artist who is not afraid to step outside of every stereotype, regardless of his age. Congratulations, Justin.”

I think I can speak for everyone around the world when I say that Justin Bieber definitely isn’t a one-hit wonder or just another teen heartthrob; he’s not leaving the music industry any time soon! He is also getting himself in the acting industry, be sure to watch Saturday Night Live on February 9th to see the funny-man in action! Let us know what you think of Justin’s most recent record-breaking and Believe Acoustic! From everyone at Weknowthedj, congratulations Justin!
