Boy bands are a time-honored tradition in music history. There’s The Beach Boys, The Beatles, The Monkees, The Jackson 5, Menudo, New Kids on The Block, Backstreet Boys, *N SYNC, 98 Degrees, and more recently The Wanted and One Direction. While this list is nowhere near exhaustive of all the boy bands out there, it is indicative of one thing. Boy bands are awesome!

When new boy bands emerge, talk always turns to former boy bands and what they are up to. I’ve been dying to know when 98 Degrees will reunite or whatever happened to Hanson.  If you are as big of a boy band enthusiast as I am then you’ll be just as excited for the next big news.

New Kids on The Block announced this Tuesday that they were going on tour this summer with 98 Degrees AND Boyz II Men.  They will be calling themselves “The Dirty Dozen.” (3 members of Boyz II Men, 4 members of 98 Degrees, and 5 members of New Kids on the Block). So not only is New Kids on the Block embarking on this new adventure, they’ll also be releasing new music. Their next albim, 10, is scheduled for release on April 2. Its first single, “Remix (I Like The),” will hit radio on January 28.

The tour kicks off on May 31 in Uncasville, Connecticut and wraps up July 13 in Minneapolis.
