One Direction gets a Best British Group nod at the 2013 BRITs!

January 11, 2013

Get ready, Directioners. The BRIT Awards, the biggest night in British music, just announced its list of nominees for this year’s show, and our favorite five-part boy band is up for Best British Group! Excuse us for a moment while we anticipate the ambush of ridiculously attractive photos of the boys that are bound to crop up on Twitter the night of the show.

The UK’s answer to the Grammys, the BRITs have long been a renowned and highly regarded show, honoring the best in musical offerings that our sexy-accented British friends can produce. At last year’s show, One Direction picked up an award for Best British Single for their smash hit “What Makes You Beautiful”.

“We cannot believe that we are stood here on this stage,” mused Louis Tomlinson in the midst of their 2012 acceptance speech, an excitement which is mirrored this year in regards to the Best British Group nod. Tweets Harry Styles, “Thank you so much for the Brit nomination…Absolutely amazing! Can’t believe we’re among those groups. Thank you”.

Also nominated for Best British Group are alt-J, Muse, Mumford & Sons, and the XX. The 2013 BRITs will take place Wednesday, February 20th at the O2 Arena in London. Best of luck to One Direction!
