What’s Hot: Top 5 YouTube Artists

November 18, 2012

All the way from the UK, these three teens; Bradley Will-Simpson, James McVey and Tristan Evans make up an indie pop band that goes by the name of The Vamps. They just joined YouTube in June and already have over 3 million video views. Their genuine sound explains why, listen to them covering One Direction’s “Little Things” below.

I was amazed to find out that singer –songwriter Rochelle Diamante was only 17! Her soulful voice can be found on both YouTube and iTunes.  Diamante does many upbeat covers, but the one of Adele’s “Skyfall” is just as entertaining, watch it below and share it for her!

Trios from the UK seemed to be a trend this week! Sophie, Daniele and Lucy, otherwise known as The Dolly Rockers, competed on the X Factor back in 2006 and a few years later when one of their songs got popular, so did they. The band is named after a vintage clothing company, which makes sense because in addition to their awesome voices, they also make quite the fashion statement. Check out their blog here: http://www.thedollyrockers.com/ and listen to their acoustic cover of “Diamonds” below.

Perfect is the only way I know how to describe Texas native Travis Garland. In addition to covers, he also does original songs and has a new EP out, Fashionably Late which can be downloaded from his website here: http://travisgarland.com/. Listen to his cover of “Let Me Love You,” I think it might be better than the original.

You probably remember Andrew Garcia from the ninth season of American Idol; he auditioned with Maroon 5’s “Sunday Morning.” Lately he has been showing up a lot on YouTube with his covers, and in videos with Ryan Higa (NigaHiga videos on Youtube.) His cover of “Locked out of Heaven” is one of the most viewed covers this week. Watch it here!

What was your favorite cover this week? Let us know in the comment section below.
