When I heard Justin Bieber would be back on tour in 2012, I knew I had to try my absolute hardest to get tickets…but I also know how dedicated Beliebers are at selling out tours in record-breaking times! After making the transition from living in New York to moving to New Jersey for college, I wasn’t sure what state I’d choose to see the Boyfriend singer in. When the tour was announced, I looked right away to see where I could watch the eighteen-year-old Canadian steal the hearts of thousands of girls. Looking at the dates closer, I saw Justin would be performing on my eighteenth birthday- at Madison Square Garden!! A date night with the most famous popstar on my 18th birthday?! YES PLEASE!! I knew I needed to do everything I possibly could to get tickets! With the mindset of never giving up, my eighteenth birthday was spent with Justin Bieber at the world’s most famous arena- the garden.

After waiting 5 months for November 29th to finally arrive, Thursday night just couldn’t come soon enough; the week seemed to be the longest week of the year. When Thursday finally arrived and birthday presents had been opened, my fourteen-year-old cousin and I hopped on a train to NYC and to say we were excited was an understatement! We arrived in the city earlier than expected and found an “Irish pub with good grub” to kill some time. Apparently you needed reservations but once we said we were waiting for the Bieber concert, we got escorted to a private room filled with other Beliebers. The energy in the restaurant was simply foreshadowing what the rest of the night would hold. Then the restaurant became my ultimate favorite when they put Never Say Never on two giant screens right in the Beliebers room! What better way to prepare for Justin’s third MSG appearance than by watching his very first MSG performance?

Arriving at the arena two hours before show time, I got settled in my seat and the excitement started to kick in even more! Beliebers, moms and dads started to fill in the seats and the energy in the garden couldn’t possibly be described! After a short time, two of our favorite Team Bieber boys made their way into the stage to pump up the crowd, DJ Tay James himself and Kenny Hamilton! The two introduced Vancouver princess Carly Rae Jepsen to the countless number of screaming Beliebers and the twenty-seven year old absolutely killed it! Bringing in lesser-known songs like Your Heart is a Muscle and Wrong Feels So Right, Carly introduced the crowd to everything she has to offer. The brunette also played better-known songs such Good Time and her newest single This Kiss! And of course it wouldn’t be a Carly Rae performance without Call Me Maybe, where the cutest little girl pulled from the crowd accompanied her!

After Carly, Kenny Hamilton made his way back to the stage to introduce the next act, 5 incredible boys that traveled all the way from England! With British accents, rowdy humor and quirky dance moves, The Wanted took the stage and pumped up the crowd! It’s impossible to not be a fan of The Wanted after a performance like the one they showed. After performing hits like Chasing the Sun, I Found You and Glad You Came, the five boys showed that they have what it takes to perform somewhere like Madison Square Garden. Tom, Max, Siva, Jay and Nathan also wasted no time interacting with the crowd; they continuously talked about how Beliebers are the friendliest and funniest fans they’ve ever encountered. The boys were ready to leave the stage but couldn’t walk off before telling Beliebers that they were just with Justin backstage when he was working out and he looked all “muscley.” You haven’t heard all that a British accent has to offer until you hear The Wanted call Justin Bieber “muscley.”

Carly Rae? Check. The Wanted? Check. That meant there was only one person left to come out on stage: Justin Bieber!!

The energy and feeling in the arena while Justin descends from the ceiling attached to angel wings is the first time in the Believe Tour experience where you can feel the bond between Justin and Beliebers. Opening the show with All Around The World, Justin started the show strong and would finish it just as strong! Song after song, Justin impressed everyone and proved why he’s the idol everyone loves so much.

The show was complete with videos in between songs, as a preview for what was to come. First off, Beliebers got an insight on what goes on through Justin’s head; so many news stories were shown, throwing questions at Justin such as “Will you stick around?” and “Can you make the transition?” The video also showed different radio stations and TV interviews full of Bieber hate. What way could the eighteen-year old respond? Five simple words: “I just wanna be me.” Beliebers also got a sight at Badass Bieber in the preview for She Don’t Like The Lights where he’s fighting off paparazzi. Quick shout-out to Alfredo Flores for your appearance on stage with your camera! Justin also swam with sharks and inspired fans before Believe, reminding them to always follow their dreams, whatever those dreams may be.

Badass Bieber made another appearance a little later in the show when those lucky enough to have seats at the barrier decided to throw their iPhones on stage. Justin took the first phone and started taking selfies and pictures of the crowd. I just have to say, that girl is extremely lucky because I’m sure 30+ million other fans would do just about anything to have a selfie of Justin Bieber on their iPhone. Beliebers do everything over the top and this situation was no different. At least five more iPhones were thrown up on stage and that called for a frustrated Bieber who offered to steal every phone thrown on stage and becoming AT&T himself! In typical Justin fashion, he had to make a joke about it saying, “if you guys want broken phones by Justin Bieber, I’ll do the honors!” We had to move on quickly because Justin had to “get the show on the road” because he had “songs to do and places to go.” So the phone dilemma ended and it was back to the show as normal, well as normal as Justin Bieber could be!

Five years ago Justin Bieber started out with just a guitar and an incredible voice in front of the Avon Theater, and it was definitely time for him go back to his roots. The next round of the show was Be Alright and Fall and I promise you, there’s nothing like hearing Justin’s voice with a guitar live. Getting ready to go onto the crane, sassy Justin made an appearance while putting on his harness, “for safety.” Of course he lifted his shirt and the screams were deafening, to which sassy Justin replied, “wow, I guess New York likes to be safe.” Hey Justin, I’m almost positive the fans were screaming so loud due to the fact that you were showing off your abs, not because of the harness!

Next, it was time for crowd interaction with two of my favorite Team Bieber members, Justin and the man behind the website, Mr. DJ Tay James! Tay had on one of the new weknowthedj shirt and they look incredible, be sure to check those out when they arrive! The two were attempting to figure out which MSG night was louder, and night two Beliebers were not willing to lose! I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything as loud as the screams in those five minutes. Justin couldn’t let the night go by without playing some sort of prank though, and who better to prank than Tay James? After making the crowd scream at such extreme levels, it was time for Beauty and a Beat! Justin made his way to the top tier of the stage, accompanied by a full bottle of water, which would be thrown onto DJ Tay James’ head! Justin ended the song asking Tay how he was, then saying to the crowd, “I got him all—Pause!” proving that he is indeed just a normal eighteen-year old with a great sense of humor! Bieber 1, Tay 0. Remember Tay… revenge is sweet!

When introducing his band earlier in the night, Justin promised that we’d hear a killer drum solo later on and he didn’t disappoint on that! Next it was time for As Long As You Love Me but Bieber switched things up a bit by performing this song with a shirt on, something Beliebers aren’t used to seeing. Shirt or no shirt, Justin absolutely killed it, especially with his dance moves. The dance moves were incredible the entire show, Justin can move like no other and the talent just flows out of his pores. Another absolutely amazing part of the show? The lighting! Chris Kuroda, the lighting director for Phish is the man in charge of the incredible light show played out during the Believe Tour. There’s lasers, fireworks, all different colors and explosions; if you’re going to a Believe Tour show in the future, make sure you appreciate the lights, they’ll blow you away!

Justin “ended the show” with Believe, although the encore would follow! The energy in the arena while Justin is sitting at his piano singing Believe is just another time that you can truly feel the bond between Beliebers and Justin. Between the end of Believe and the encore, Beliebers were graced by the presence of Ry Good on the big screen! Ry’s voice only has one volume: loud! He was screaming things such as #RYGOODISSOGOODLOOKING #imhavingagoodtime #BelieveTour #stufflikethat… if you’re going to a show, make sure you tweet those hashtags when Ry comes on the screen, maybe you’ll be lucky enough to get a retweet!

Justin came back out for an encore consisting of Boyfriend and Baby. The superstar came up from stage with his back to the crowd and nobody was expecting what we got! Bieb turned around and it seems like he forgot his shirt backstage! I’ve never heard anything like the deafening screams I constantly heard for those ten minutes! At the end of Baby, Justin looked to his dancers for a little help; the jacket must have bothered him because it came all the way off! When Justin Bieber takes his shirt off all the way, the screams are so loud that they definitely could have been heard all the way in Times Square. I definitely have to agree with The Wanted boys; Justin Bieber is definitely “muscley!!”

The show ended and this morning I’m definitely feeling the post-concert depression. MSG is always known as one of the biggest shows and Justin definitely didn’t disappoint! Justin proved that he’s here to stay and can handle huge audiences like those at the garden! Are you going to a Believe Tour concert or have you already been? Maybe I saw you at The Garden? Let us know below! From everyone at weknowthedj, congratulations Justin on everything you’ve achieved, we’ll be there supporting you every step of the way!
