Brandy’s ‘Two Eleven’ Debuts at Number Three

October 25, 2012

R&B singer Brandy has had a rocky journey but she’s officially back on the Billboard 200. Her new album titled “Two Eleven” debuts at number 3, selling 65,000 copies during its debut week. Brandy first appeared on the Billboard 200 eighteen years ago. The last time this brunette beauty ranked in the top ten was the week of July 17, 2004 with “Afrodisiac.” Although it seems like a challenge, Brandy’s focus is to stay there!

Though her 2008 album “Human” didn’t perform as well as she hoped, the reason for the long absence from the charts wasn’t solely because of the quality of music she was releasing; it was because she took a break from the R & B music scene. Brandy occupied her time with rap music, reality TV and acting.

“Two Eleven” is a collection of old-school R&B songs mixed with a modern, futuristic twist. Brandy leaves out the trend-chasing experiments with Electronic Dance Music. She also (with the exception of the Chris Brown cameo on her single “Put It Down”) stays away from guest stars. Brandy supplies us with some great beats and songs written by amazing songwriters such as Chris Brown, Frank Ocean, Sean Garrett, Rico Love and Mario Winans.

On Twitter, the R&B singer’s has gotten nothing but positive feedback on this fourteen-track album. Let us know what you think of it!
