Beyonce to perform at the Super Bowl half-time show

October 27, 2012

Expect great things from Super Bowl XLVII. Football season has barely begun and the iconic athletic celebration is already looking bigger and better than ever. Just this past week, it was announced that global superstar Beyoncé will headline the halftime show – and what a show that’s bound to be!

The Super Bowl halftime show is almost as highly anticipated as the game itself, and it has continuously grown more elaborate, each year’s act seemingly trying to outdo the last. Last year’s show featured a memorable collaboration between Madonna, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., Cee Lo Green, and LMFAO. Performers in the past include The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Slash, The Who, and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. In other words, the artists who take the stage at halftime are some of the biggest names to exist in the music industry – and Beyonce is no exception. The R&B/pop princess has won 16 Grammys and the Billboard Millennium Award among dozens of other accolades, as well as earned a star on the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame. Who knows what surprises she’ll have in store for us when the world travels to New Orléans this February for the biggest American sporting event of the year?

As of yet, no other artists have been announced to join Bey onstage at the 2013 Super Bowl. Stay tuned for updates!
