This past weekend, the iHeartRadio Music Festival took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The festival consisted of a mix of the hottest artists to date. The festival started on Friday, September 21st and ended the following day with multiple captivating performances that you would not want to miss.

The first day Green Day, Jason Aldean, Lil Wayne, Rihanna, Swedish House Mafia, Miranda Lambert, No Doubt, Bon Jovi, Usher, Shakira and Megan &Liz all performed and blew the audience away.

When Rihanna took the stage, not only was the audience gasping for air… but trying to take in how flawless she looked and performed. RiRi opened with “Only Girl In The World”, than broke out into “Disturbia”. She brought it back and sang an oldie, but definitely a goodie, “Umbrella”. As her performance came to a close she ended it with “We Found Love” and left the stage with that overpowering sassiness she always brings.

Everyone knows that when Bon Jovi performs, he brings it and he did exactly that. He came on stage singing a bunch of his most popular tunes including, “Livin’ On A Prayer”, “You Give Love A Bad Name”, “It’s My Life”, “Wanted Dead Or Alive”, “You Can’t Go Home”, “Bad Medicine!” and a cover to the Isley Brothers’, “You Make Me Wanna Shout”. Bon Jovi left that stage with the audience in awe; making his performance unforgettable.

When this night couldn’t get any better, No Doubt comes on stage giving the performance of their life. As the band began “Just A Girl”, P!nk came on stage surprising everyone with a guest performance. It was a perfect way to get the crowd jumping and screaming for more.

As the first day came to a close, it was only the start of the festival. With a new day and a whole new set of performers approaching, the fans became more than anxious. Saturday, September 22nd consisted of performances by Aerosmith, Brad Paisley, Deadmau5, Linkin Park, Mary J. Blige, Calvin Harris, Enrique Iglesias, P!nk, Pitbull and of course the one and only, Taylor Swift.

When it comes to rocking out, bad girl, P!nk really knows how to kill it on stage. This fully fledged rock star performed a total of six songs. She began her performance with, “Raise Your Glass” than immediately after with “Just Like a Pill”.  She than look the audience in the palm of her hand when she sang one of the many tracks off her up and coming album, The Truth About Love. The single is called “Try” which she obviously performed perfectly. Right after, P!nk performed “Perfect” then subtly flew into “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” with an array of back up dancers dressed as big red lips! As lip shaped confetti surrounded the arena, P!nk was not finished due to the fact that she had one more song under her belt. P!nk ended her performance with “So What” bringing the audience to new heights… literally. She was strapped to a harness where she performed the track in the air. To say her performance was good, is definitely an understatement, she was absolutely spectacular.

Clearly this festival is just full of surprises! During Mary J. Blige’s performance, Prince came on stage and joined her to sing “Sweet Thang” and then they sang “Nothing Compares 2 U” together. Not only is Mary J. Blige a treat, but Prince and her on the same stage? Come on, did they want to give their fans a heart attack!? I’d assume so being that they killed it on stage together.

So is it just me or are you not surprised Taylor Swift came out sporting one of the many gold dresses she loves to rock. With skin like porcelain and a voice of an angel, there’s no doubt in my mind Taylor would rock the stage. After beginning her set with “Sparks Fly”, Taylor shouted out to the crowd, Good evening Vegas! I’m Taylor. And this is the first time I’ve ever played the iHeartRadio Music Festival.” With an abundant amount of screaming coming from the audience, they patiently waited for her next song. Taylor then sang, “You Belong With Me”, “Mean”, “Love Story” and then ending the night with her popular new single, “We Are Never Getting Back Together” when a bunch of people came on stage in animal costumes to sing along and help end her performance. Like always, Taylor was amazing, it’s not like it’s a surprise or anything, come on, it’s Taylor!

Country, handsome and charming are three words that can only describe one man, Brad Paisley. As Paisley hit the stage performing “She’s Everything” he look a girl’s phone and videotaped him and the crowd singing the song to her from the stage. Then, Brad surprised the audience with a performance of his new hit single, “Southern Comfort Zone”; which was actually his first time ever performing the song live! Paisley closed his performance with “Alcohol” when he gave his cowboy hat to a lucky fan in the audience. He definitely made two lucky girls dreams come true that night, and will be something they will never forget… as matter of fact, nobody will forget.

It was undeniably hard to pick out only a few performances of the two-day festival to write about. If you would like to read up on the other artists check it out here: http://festival.iheart.com/go/iheartradio-music-festival/index.html

With the amount of talent that was seen at the iHeartRadio Musical Festival 2012, it without a doubt in my mind beats the previous years. Sure artists sound good on the radio, but when you hear them live, everything changes for the better.
