Country Music’s Newest Hottie: Hunter Hayes

September 5, 2012

Louisiana native Hunter Hayes has captured hearts not only of the country crowd, but a boat load of other music fans too.

The 20 year-old began performing on stage and TV at age 4 where he was known to sing and play the accordion. Check out this adorable video of Hunter and Hank Williams Jr.

Pretty crazy, huh?

Fast forward a little more than a decade to when Hayes graduated high school at 16. He later moved to Nashville, where he was signed with Universal Music Publishing Group as not a recording artist, but a songwriter. (He co-wrote “Play” for Rascal Flatts.) Two years later he was signed to Atlantic Records and released his first single, “Storm Warning.” You have probably seen Hayes performing on multiple talk and late night TV shows or opening for Taylor Swift on her Speak Now tour. Hayes is also featured on the Footloose soundtrack singing with Victoria Justice.
Back in March, Hayes released the single “Wanted” from his album Hunter Hayes. The song is about wanting to give someone the world. ‘Wanted’’s great writing and sound landed it on not only the Billboard Country Songs chart, but peaked at number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100. The official music video has close to 11 million views and the song has gone platinum, due to more than one million sales.
