Ke$ha Releases New Single:“Die Young”

September 28, 2012

Seems as if the glitter pop princess is back from her short period away from the music scene! Her last official single, “Blow”, was released on February 8th of 2011. It’s clearly been quite a while for Ke$ha.

Her new single, released just on September 25th, 2012, does sound similar to her famous hits, such as “Blah Blah Blah”, but undoubtedly has its own spin to it. The lead vocalist to Fun co-wrote the song, along with Ke$ha herself, Benny Blanco, and Cirkut.

Current fans of Ke$ha may be happy knowing that she did not stray too far from her comfort zone with this new single, but some critics have not been too pleased. Spin commented, “Keep on dancing till the world ends, because we’re born to die, and so on. It’s not that Ke$ha needed to change her approach for the new LP, particularly, but this one feels a bit more, well, blah than her earlier hits. Here’s hoping the rest of Warrior is a bit more fierce.” However, there were some positive reviews, as from Rolling Stone, who said, “The hedonistic pop star packs fiery flair into her raging rally cries, delivering inspiring messages: ‘Don’t care who’s watching when we tearin’ it up.’ It’s the Ke$ha we know and love. Party on.”

“Die Young” reassures us that Ke$ha knows how to party, and she’s encouraging us all to live life to the fullest. The pop vibe to this single hints that it will be the radio hit for weeks to come.

Ke$ha’s new album, Warrior, is scheduled to be released this November. Based on the lead single, “Die Young”, what are you expecting from the album?

Take a listen below! The song is also available on iTunes.
