The Countdown is Finally on for Carly Rae Jepsen’s Debut Album

August 8, 2012

Carly Rae Jepsen isn’t giving up her chart-topping spot anytime soon; the only place she’s going is even higher. Oh, and on tour with fellow Canadian Justin Bieber. Carly Rae is releasing her U.S. début album, “Kiss”, on September 18, 2012 via 604 Records/Schoolboy Records/Interscope Records. While speaking about the record, Jepsen said, “The record is pop. It’s inspired by Robyn, The Cars, Madonna, and believe it or not, James Taylor.” Carly Rae wrote or co-wrote songs and collaborated with songwriters and producers Max Martin, Redfoo from LMFAO, Josh Ramsay, Matthew Koma and plenty of others.

The twenty-six year old’s latest single, ‘Good Time,”’is a collaboration with Owl City so we can only wonder who else will be featured on her début album. Everyone has heard the rumors of Justin Bieber joining the album for a song but will anyone else be joining the track list? ‘Call Me Maybe’ has taken over everyone’s airwaves so I can only imagine how many people want the opportunity to work with Ms. Jepsen!

‘Call Me Maybe’ has sold more than 7.3 million singles worldwide and has spent eight weeks at number one on the Hot 100, tied for the most weeks atop the chart this week so it’s safe to assume that everyone has high expectations for “Kiss.”

Jepsen is getting ready to make TV appearances throughout all of August. She has performances scheduled on The Today Show, at the Arthur Ashe Kids Day at the U.S. Open, America’s Got Talent, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Conan. Believe me when I say, this isn’t the last time we hear about Carly Rae Jepsen and her accomplishments. This is only the beginning of her journey!
