Nicki Minaj’s “Pound The Alarm”!

August 2, 2012

Pound the alarm!! Nicki Minaj has surfaced a new music video of hers! This time she hits a little more close to home.

The music video for “Pound The Alarm” opens out with scenes overlooking the gorgeous scenery and aspects of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, which is in fact Nicki’s hometown. It was actually filmed last month in Trinidad and Tobago. The sound of the traditional steel drums plays for about  16 seconds in, then the alarm rings and Nicki Minaj soon appears with her fluffed, blonde hair and a bejeweled outfit sporting the colors of the Trinidad and Tobago flag.

If you’re familiar with this Young Money rapper and singer, you will know she doesn’t exactly do normal videos. Crazy, colorful, lively…that’s what she likes.

As the video continues, Nicki Minaj appears in the street in a carnival-themed outfit, with feathers protruding from her head, back, and legs. Many other women in similar outfits soon join her, all strutting down the street and spawning up their own dance party.

No doubt she brought her spunk and diva side out to the streets of St. James.

Music video director Benny Boom filmed “Pound The Alarm”. With his artistic vision for things, it’s no wonder he and Nicki cooked up this festive video! He also directed Nicki Minaj’s “Beez In The Trap” and “Right By My Side”. Some other artists he has worked with include 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes,  Keyshia Cole, and more.

Do you think this is Nicki’s best video yet? Or is it just to wild and explosive with celebration for you? Check out the video below and let us know!
