Stagecoach 2012: Country Music, Camp Parties, and Booze

May 1, 2012

If you love country music, camp parties, and booze Stagecoach was definitely the place to be this weekend! Stagecoach is southern California’s biggest country music festival of the year. The festival is filled with amazing performers, tasty food, and mass consumption of alcohol. Thousands upon thousands of county music  fans piled into The Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA Thursday to be a part of this Stagecoach Music Festival weekend.

This festival has gone strong since its start in 2007. However, this year was the biggest yet, lasting 3 full days (earlier years have only been 2 days). Tickets for this event sold out within the first week and online ticket scalpers were selling camp site passes for a staggering $1,000. YIKES!!! Regardless, they were selling like hotcakes!

Campers and concert goes alike would claim this weekend’s festivities were worth every penny. As for the lineup, it was county music royalty Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Alabama, Miranda Lambert, and her hubby Blake Shelton all graced the main stage throughout the festival. Campers flooded the venue all attempting to get as close as possible to the singing stars and by noon each day the venue was packed full!

Friday: Alabama lit up the stage while performing their legendary hit “Music Mountain”.

Later Jason Aldean reminisced about past performances at the festival, this being his third time on the Stagecoach lineup. However, this was his first on the main stage. He sang a number of his hits but most popular was “Don’t You Wanna Stay” with Kelly Clarkson via video cam. The crowed loved every second of the duet.

Saturday: Luke Bryan tore up the stage on Saturday night performing “I Don’t Want This Night to End” to an audience of awe-stuck women. In that moment all the men wanted to be him and all the women wanted to be with him. It was such a mega-star moment for the hunky country singer. Later, he spiced it up with his song “Country Girl”, even dragging a lucky male audience member on the stage to “Shake it” for the entire audience to see.

Blake Shelton livened up the audience singing some of his hits but also singing some non-country songs like “My Prerogative” that had the entire venue on their feet dancing to the beat. At the end of his set he introduced his wife Mrs. Miranda Lambert. She truly pulled out all the stops singing “Heart Like Mine”. She even sang a duet with ReaLynn, a contestant from this season of The Voice. She then closed out the night by singing “Let Me Go Home” with her hubby

Sunday: Sheryl Crow, a last-minute add to this year’s Satgecoach line up, got the audience going singing older hits like “All I Wanna Do” and “Every day is a Winding Road”.

Brad Paisley had the task of closing out the 2012 Stagecoach festival and he didn’t disappoint! He sang some of his hits, killed it on the guitar, and had almost everyone in the venue line dancing at one point. Carrie Underwood (a headliner last year), even made an appearance singing “Remind Me” on stage with Brad.

Needless to say, the weekend was a smash, filled with amazing music, sunshine, and good old fashion country fun!
